The user organisations representatives of the Barry Community Water Activities Centre recently held a meeting at the Mole on Barry Docks, to discuss the way forward for sailing, rowing and canoeing at No 1 Dock.
There was disappointment when the chairman advised the Trust had been turned down by the Big Lottery for a CAT2 grant, for the main building planned for use by all, because they said there was insufficient community support for the project.
The 18 organisations who attended the meeting, as photographed, indicates the wide community involvement in the development for boating activities for the Community at the Barry Waterfront, which was planned to include a Café and Community meeting and function rooms.
It was agreed by all, that prior to any further grant applications they would need to provide additional written proof of support. They proposed that the general public be encouraged to indicate their approval for the plans, and letters of support are requested be emailed to the secretary@bcwac.co.uk for collation with those already received.
