Despite the weather nearly 200 people had a great afternoon at the Barry Community Water Activity Centre and on Barry Dock this Sunday.
There were powerboat rides, sailing, rowing, canoeing and paddleboarding activities available to those who turned up, all of whom were fitted with buoyancy aids before going on the water. On shore there were opportunities to learn about Barry Youth Watersports, Sea Cadets, Scouts and ways in which all people can get afloat in Barry.
Barry Round Table were also present feeding the visitors with Hot Dogs and burgers from their barbeque, hot drinks were provided by BCWAC Volunteers and Bro Radio provided a musical backdrop..
Amongst the visitors was the Barry Mayor Cllr Janice Charles who was taken afloat by the Centre Manager Mr Keith McIntire. She said “It is great to see a facility like this in Barry and for the residents to have the opportunity to take part in so many activities”
